Bridge the Gap
Nurturing Families partners with a local family foundation to provide essential financial support to homeless, unaccompanied youth identified by FCPS staff.
Youth can receive up to $500 in support paid directly to a third party to pursue educational or vocational goals or to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Examples of support provided by the Bridge the Gap program:
Rent for a teen who was sleeping in her car while waiting for a space to open up in a community housing program
Assistance paying for a car a teen needed to get to her job
Please note: rent assistance is only provided when the youth needs short-term assistance prior to entering a residential program.
